This Late Summer Rare and Fine Wine online auction falls hot on the heels of our wonderful sale in February as we get back to our normal rhythm. Proudly, we have on offer incredible wines with some fantastic value options. There is something for everyone; wines for the table today or for the cellar tomorrow.
Kicking off with the New Zealand Bordeaux blends we have Mudbrick, Tantalus, Destiny Bay, Stonyridge Larose, Passage Rock, Te Whau and Te Motu from the picturesque Hauraki Gulf Waiheke Island. These icons keep fine company with other Auckland brands St Nesbit, Puriri Hills and Matakana stalwarts Providence and The Antipodean. Not to be left out Hawkes Bay puts up some of its finest with Te Mata, Babich, Paritua, LVCA, Sacred Hill, Newton Forrest and Craggy Range. These wines are always impressive and there are some fantastic vintages on offer.
New Zealand Pinots have been taking the world by storm and we have some of the best examples with Julicher and Craggy Range from the North Island. Sliding into Marlborough with Fromm and Dog Point then heading down to North Canterbury with Pegasus Bay and Pyramid Valley and then continuing down to Otago with Rippon, Carrick, Two Paddocks and new superstar Cuvee aux Antipodes from Prophets Rock.
Our Syrah’s too have had the wine-world take notice and it is hardly surprising when you look at the quality of Craggy Range Le Sol, Vidals Legacy, Paritua, Sam Harrop, Sacred Hill and Te Mata Bullnose from Hawkes Bay along with Passage Rock, Providence, Te Whau, Obsidian and Frenchman’s Hill from Waiheke and the greater Auckland region.
The lucky country comes out swinging with some real heavy weights. No Australian section would be complete without the wines of Penfolds, and this auction is no different the rare and rarely produced Bin 60A in magnum and bottle as well as Block 42 Kalimna. Competing for attention in the Shiraz selection is Jim Barry Armagh, Henschke Hill of Grace and Rockford Basket Press. These superstar wines are supported with many great value everyday wines that will please many wallets.
Now in answer to this front footing from the New World, the Old World holds its own with some thirst-quenching German Rieslings. As Summer draws to a close, so to are these wines that we have been able place into many auctions, so if you haven’t managed to procure some previously, now is your chance. Don't miss out!
Italy puts its hand up high with wines from Sassicaia, Ornellaia and Masseto.
There is value in abundance from the Iberian Peninsula ranging from great value Spaniards to global superstar Vega Sicilia.
Rhone has been very strong in the saleroom for us as of late and we continue in this vane with multiple Guigal Lalas. These are perfectly accompanied with other drop-dead-gorgeous offerings Rene Rostaign, Chapoutier, Jaboulet in the north while the south lines up with Chateauneufs from Usseglio and Beaucastel.
The Burgundy offering is enough to make one come over all a quiver with Roumier, Liger Belaire, DRC, Meo Camuzet, de Vogue, Grivot, Bouchards La Romanee Lamarche and Armand Rousseau. It’s certainly an offering that makes you catch your breath!
Searching for a hard to find Bordeaux? We can certainly help you out with the very prestigious Lafleur from Pomerol. Something even bigger perhaps? Then check out our Imperial of Latour. Something else? Take your pick between Palmer and Haut Brion and more.
To wash all these down we have fortifieds from New Zealand and Portugal.
