Welcome our first LIVE Rare & Fine Wine Auction of 2026, this is a truly fantastic catalogue packed with wonderful wines from New Zealand and around the world.
This auction was a joy to curate, with almost 400 lots there is a wide selection to enjoy; from true unicorn wines that warrant a place in any cellar, blue-chip investment grade icons right through to excellent value-buys from respected producers. It is an incredibly balanced offering, covering (almost) the whole wine world with particularly excellent offerings across the old-world: classic Italians, Rhone Reds, Burgundy and some absolutely legendary Bordeaux vintages.
Our Summer Rare & Fine Wine Auction is hosted LIVE from 6pm on Tuesday 3 February and you are warmly invited to join us, either in person at our Eden Terrace HQ or online from the comfort of your office or your living room.
Absentee bidding is now open.
New Zealand
As always we start our journey off close to home with classic NZ Bordeaux blends. This includes excellent vintages of Stonyridge Larose and Destiny Bay from Waiheke alongside some of Hawkes’ Bays best: multiple vintages of Te Mata Coleraine and Awatea, Craggy Range The Quarry and excellent wines from Alpha Domus, Clearview, Church Road and more…
These are followed by an unrivaled Pinot Noir lineup with wines from across the motu including Central Otago (Felton Road, Prophets Rock, Two Paddocks), Canterbury (Bell Hill, Pegasus Bay), Nelson (Neudorf), Marlborough (Fromm, Seresin) and finally Martinborough (Ata Rangi). This auction also features six vintages of the super rare (one barrel per vintage) Central Otago Celebration Pinot Noir, made to raise money for the Central Otago Pinot Noir Charitable Trust and blended by Felton Road winemaker Blair Walter.
Before we get to whites, there is some stunning Syrah from the likes of Trinity Hill (both Homage and the great-value Gimblett Gravels), Church Road and Man O’ War. The auction has an excellent range of NZ whites for the cellar: Chardonnay from Kumeu River, Man O’ War and Pegasus Bay and Martinborough Riesling from Craggy Range and Dry River. Our NZ selection is completed with some fantastic dessert wines.
Australia and the Americas
We have a well crafted selection of wines from across the ditch including vintage bottlings of Yerringberg, Penfolds (Bin 707 Cabernet and Grange), Jim Barry Armargh and Henschke Hill of Grace. Our selection from the Americas brings California classics from Dominus and Kosta Browne alongside top-flight Argentine Malbec from Cantena Zapata.
Italy
Our Italian selection stretches from the sun drenched slopes of Mt Etna in Sicily to the snow-capped mountains of the Dolomites. Needless to say the classic wines of Tuscany and Piedmont take centre stage including Barolo and Barbaresco from the greats alongside serious Chianti, Brunello and Super Tuscans including Massetto and large format bottlings of Ornellaia. Of note is a selection of wines from Friuli’s Gravner, a pioneering producer who is responsible for the introduction of ‘orange’ wines to the west; these are widely regarded as the finest examples of this esoteric style and are incredibly ageworthy.
Spain
For this auction, Spain focuses in on the classic regions of Rioja and Ribera del Duero with multiple bottlings of the Bodegas Vega-Sicilia Unico and several bottlings (including two vintages of bianco) from uber traditionalist cult producer Lopez de Heredia.
France
Starting in Champagne this auction features vintage Prestige Cuvée bottlings from Dom Perignon, Krug and Bollinger alongside rare Grower Champagne from legends like Jaquesson and Pascal Agrapart.
There is a particularly good offering of Rhone reds including various vintages of the famed Guigal La-Las from Cote Rotie as well as Chateauneuf from the likes of Ch. Rayas and Ch. Beaucastel.
There are wonderful selections of both white and red Burgundy, both featuring many top producers. On the Chardonnay front we have Chablis from Raveneau and Dauvissat, Puligny Montrachet from Henri Boillot and Meursault from Roulot. If these are a little ambitious for your cellar there are also some amazing sub-$100 wines from Chateau Fuisse. You are spoiled for choice when it comes to Pinot… the crown jewel are bottles of 2010 Corton and Echezeaux from DRC with wines from Rousseau, de Vogue, Mugnier and many more.
Bordeaux is a veritable who’s who… legendary 1982 first growths from Lafite and Latour and 2010 Lafleur (100 Points from Decanter, James Suckling, Falstaff and Jeff Leve) sit side-by-side with stunning wines from Calon Segur, Cos d'Estournel and Pavie. There is also a range of excellent wines with starting prices of $50 or less.
Vintage Ports from Taylors, Dows and locals Mazuran's rounds off our Live Auction offering for February 2026. There are some truly world class wines to choose from here, and something for every type of winelover from the investor to the anorak.
Happy bidding and good luck!
